This site is a personal portfolio. It collects as little as possible, sets no cookies, and shares nothing with third parties.

Who is responsible

Server logs

The site runs on a server hosted by Uberspace in Germany. As with any web server, requests are logged for operational and security reasons. These logs are not merged with other data and are not used to profile visitors.

Reach measurement with Umami

For anonymous reach measurement this site uses Umami, an open-source analytics tool that I host myself at analytics.oliver-pietsch.de on my own Uberspace account. No analytics data is sent to a third party.

Umami sets no cookies, stores no personal profiles, and makes no cross-device tracking possible. It records aggregated usage data only — page views, referrer, coarse device and browser information, and country. Visitors are distinguished by a hash that Umami calculates on the server from a salt that rotates daily; nothing is stored in your browser.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — my legitimate interest in understanding which parts of the site are useful and improving them. Because nothing is stored on or read from your device, no consent banner is required for this measurement under § 25 DDG.

No third-party services

There are no third-party fonts, no embedded videos, no advertising, no social media widgets and no consent management platform. The only external requests a page makes are to the analytics host named above.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to information, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. Because the analytics processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you also have the right to object to it at any time.

An email to kontakt@oliver-pietsch.de is sufficient for any of these. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
